This will be the second summer I’m spending in Philadelphia for work and couldn’t be more excited for my work with students and teachers in Philadelphia, seeing old friends, and spending time in the city that I really came to love! Last summer I think I did a pretty good job of experiencing the city, especially exploring neighborhoods and trying out different restaurants. There were definitely a number of significant sights that I want to check out this summer, plus keep exploring different areas and seeing some old favorites.
Below is my Bucket List for this summer in Philly, plus some old favorites to see again below! Comment and add other suggestions (especially restaurants)!
Philadelphia Bucket List:
-Visit the Philadelphia Art Museum
-Explore Fairmount Park
-Visit the Shofuso Japanese House
-See Independence Hall without all the construction scaffolding
-Visit the Barnes Foundation (huge collection of Matisses, Cezannes, and Picassos)
-Go to a Phillies game!
-Visit the National Constitution Center
-Visit the Adventure Aquarium
-Explore Magic Garden
-Visit Longwood Garden
-See Bryn Athyn Cathedral
-Explore the Eastern State Penitentiary
-Eat at several of the Starr Restaurants
Old Favorites (I did a lot of stuff last summer I promise! but it was less “sights”):
-Explore and walk around Center City, Old City, Society Hill, and South Street (see where I end up!)
-Shop at Redding Terminal Market
-Weekend brunch at Honey’s
-Eat at other favorite restaurants (need help from my Philly peeps remembering some specific names/places)
Let me know some of your favorite places and anything that should be added to the list!
