When I first knew I was moving to Miami I remember I talked about how I’d be getting the Florida resident pass to Disney World and how I’d be going ALL the time! Well fast forward five years and I’ve only been to Orlando three times. One trip the only Disney experience was Downtown Disney and the other two trips involved visiting only one park each time (Epcot for the Food and Wine Festival and then the Magic Kingdom). I need to change my Orlando exposure a lot, including spending a couple days at the Happiest Place On Earth!
The good news is that all three posts are worth checking out (and all are at Disney World)!-
- Babycakes NYC– gluten-free (and vegan) bakery at Downtown Disney. Enjoyed the food I got here. My first visit was back when there wasn’t a lot of gluten-free options in Miami. So this kind of seemed like an oasis! Still like to make a stop when I’ve been in Orlando.
- Epcot International Food and Wine Festival (Fall)– I loved this trip with my friends. I love all the country themed showcases of Epcot and the Food and Wine Festival is a lot of fun. It can get expensive with entrance to the park, plus the individual costs of food and drinks. However, you have the possibility (if you don’t go overboard) of keeping costs down by being able to buy things a la carte vs. other festivals (South Beach Wine and Food Festival can set you back a couple hundred dollars for the tasting village).
- Grand Floridian Cafe– I used to spend a lot of time researching Disney World as a kid, especially the hotels. The Grand Floridian was always one of my favorites and I really enjoyed my visit to the Grand Floridian Cafe. The hotel itself also did not disappoint.
